Dr. Bethelhem is a medical doctor who currently works as an associate researcher in the Clinical Trial Directorate at Armauer Hansen Research Institute. She has actively participated as a co-investigator in collaborative research projects, primarily focusing on improving healthcare for pregnant mothers living in malaria-endemic areas and children with severe pneumonia in Ethiopia. Additionally, she coordinates the research mentorship program at Armauer Hansen Research Institute and is a Fogarty Fellow in the Ethiopian-Emory TB Research Training Program.

She has a strong passion for clinical research and implementation research. She is dedicated to bridging the gap between research and practice, identifying barriers, and implementing evidence-informed interventions to enhance the quality of healthcare provided to the public.
